Scottish. 21st Royal North British Fusiliers Victorian 'Albert' pattern OR's shako plate circa 1844-55.
A good scarce example reputedly recovered from the battlefield at Alma. Large die-stamped gilt flaming grenade, the ball mounted with the Royal Arms. Retains two original loops to reverse as well as one of a pair of wires. Royal Arms with slightly polished highpoints otherwise GC.
